presumption

I have so many beautiful fabrics now in my “library”. I still haven’t found *exactly* what i was/am looking for. I could keep on buying and buying and while i love what i’ve amassed so far for Unknown Sister, it’s not going to be complete until i can do /find/make/buy what i precisely want.

But i did figure it out. And that’s what i’m doing, hoping it’s not going to slow me down too much for a Dec 1 “opening”. Some will be used as i bought them, perfect storm combinations. Others will be what i “see”.

HA.

WHY was i so dumb as to not think about the Annual Canada Post strike at Christmas season, which started today? I had planned a grand “Re-opening” of my shop, but with a new old slant (Used to do wearable art 20+ years ago) and of course, now, do i not only have to have enough to make it worth loading the shop, but not enough that it gets stuck in the mail. Trying to find alternate carriers is exhausting. Ah, the Joys of Small Craft/Art Business…….

Going to keep on, but not holding  my breath. I shot myself in the foot to begin with by waiting until too close to Christmas, but this kind of puts the gangrene in the first aid box, doesn’t it?

    1. There always is at Christmas i swear. We put so much “value” on it and unless it’s family for dinner and getting along, it truly is pointless for the last 20 years for a lot of people…….

  1. It’s to be hoped the strike doesn’t last too long – suspect the government will step in and end it. Either way, it messes everybody up. I have a parcel of fodder for ‘Grandma Jammies’ somewhere out there – doubt I’ll get it in time to get them done and mailed out to BC in time for Christmas. Oh well.

    1. Yes, they usually do don’t they? It just doesn’t promote much trust in a customer who is across a border, and doesn’t want to wait. I get enough complaints about the price of our shipping (which i do not set, the post office does!) and they seem to forget WE pay even more to have something shipped to us unless it’s Amazon. Aggravating.

  2. YIKES – I didn’t realize there was a strike (I have an order on its way from Canada)! This just gives you more time to do some deeper creating. Utilize it. We always seem to stop when the path seems blocked; take a breath or two, look down at your feet and see a slightly different path you can venture forward. Your resilience is a gift.
